I had a busy week and an even busier weekend. I hosted a fun "Mad Tea" birthday party. I hit up the flea markets and found some things I've desired for a long while (I've wanted a yellow bar cart like the one pictured below for years!) And fun surprises like the scary-cute owl above and the Noah's Ark cookie jar and vintage horn boat below.
Otherwise I'm still working things out at home, trying to get my freelancer schedule together and training a beautiful but frisky kitten (you still have a chance to name her!)
What did you find this weekend?

I found the same cart in white.
ReplyDeleteAnother bar cart, more Le Creuset
So jealous of that cart. I find those carts quite regularly, but always in poor condition. There are somethings I don't mind with some wear or even rust, but a cart that I'm going to be putting stuff on is not one of them. Great thrift haul!!
ReplyDeleteSraikh: Awesome! This was my first time having the luck to encounter one.
ReplyDeleteTLee: This one has a little rust on the top but is otherwise perfect. I love it for my "home office" (corner of the dining room)
Awesome finds! Didn't go thrifting this weekend, still working on last weekends finds, 8 boxes of vintage patterns (831 patterns) from the 1920s to the 70s, mostly from the 50s. Also an 1880s Edwardian dress and black mourning dress, two very large silk scarves/wraps with fringe. Large box of vintage buttons and some odds and ends. Now what to keep and what to sell...decision, decisions.
ReplyDeletethat yellow tray is AWESOME!!! would love that in our house!

I saw a cow-horn ship like yours on craigslist in Nashville this week... what're the odds! So cool! Also, I'm going to need that yellow enamel bar cart. YUM.
ReplyDeleteCool finds! We have the same printer:) Not that mine is working...
ReplyDeleteThe funniest thing happened yesterday. I watched the movie The Cat Returns and in it was a little white cat that looked just like yours and was called Yuki, which is the exact same name I left in the comments!
Victoria: 831 patterns! Damn, lady! Good luck. I have boxes and boxes to sort through, too...
ReplyDeleteOh! Happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteBeware of the owls in the first picture...they have zombie eyes. They might come to life and try to eat your brains as you sleep.
Fun finds as usual.
Love the yellow cart - I have a turquoise one that I got years ago and it's one of my favorite possessions. Yours is in WAY better condition than mine! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Fellow Libra!
ReplyDeleteYou are not going to believe this, but I found a velvet painting exactly like your lab one last week, only mine features a doberman. I still need to photograph it.
Love the carts too!
The ark rules!
ReplyDeleteI always love your pics Van. What camera do you use?
I love that yellow bar cart, I too have been on the hunt for one for a long time. Have come across a couple but they were in such terrible shape. Yours is lovely and I'm hoping that I find one someday!
ReplyDeleteBlue Eyed Night Owl: 'Tis the fate of all printers! Mine hasn't had ink in 5 years? :) The kitty in Animatrix's "Beyond" is named Yuki, too.
ReplyDeleteBeccalina: They won't be in my bedroom with me for sure...
Jenny: It looks exactly like one I've been trying to buy off anthropologie for years ;)
Gina: That's hillarious, my friend Nicole found one just like it with a white dog!
ReplyDeleteSir Thrift-A-Lot: It's a simple, easy to use Canon Rebel T1i. You can take amazing pics with any camera (especially DSLR!) as long as there's abundant natural light and you hold the camera super still with a tripod or some creative stand-in for one.
Helen: Keep hunting, you'll find it one day!
Adoring the owls and that cart is awesome!
ReplyDeleteMom and I did MASSIVE thrifting on Monday and yesterday, MASSIVE errand running. One of those errands involved putting three or four packages in the mail to you!
