I don't have much luck selling adorable vintage jars of any kind at my antique store booths, but this classy set of psychedelic 70s mushroom goodness is so beautiful I took the risk for it!
Next, I scored this beautiful mushroom print Pyrex bowl! I love the speckled finish and blades of grass.
This vintage radio alarm clock really works! It's got a beautiful, atomic-style shape.
Keeping with the sleek atomic theme, wow! Look at this wall mounted wax paper/aluminum foil/paper towel dispenser. It's so Jetsons sleek, I wonder if it's actually a sentient life form from another planet? A Transformer in disguise?!
I'm geeking out over the front and labels too. A beautiful piece overall.
I was on the fence with buying this black cat and pretty vintage tin, they don't seem like things that would sell quickly. But the prices were right, so here they are!
I haven't bought records in a while, but you can't go wrong with the OJs!
Behold the epic photograph within! I would love to stage and photograph a scene this amazing one day!
My planter obsession continues with this acquisition! I think this Gargoyle will end up spray painted neon pink. Or black with neon pink eyes? Fun!
I love this vintage children's book, I can't wait to scan the illustrations. I also scooped up some vintage Richard Scary books that I forgot to photograph. I'm going to upcycle the vintage frame into a jewelry display for Art Walk.
This is my third plaid print Aladdin thermos of this kind! The vintage gun ash tray is all-class and will look nice listed with the other novelty ash trays in my collection.
Woah, two in one day! I think I like this little piece even better. I'm a tropical creature that fantasizes about living in a mid century modern Gigdet-style tiki hut paradise. I basically want to live in this painting!
I've been using vintage crochet blankets like these to make fun vintage picnic basket sets. This is another Yuko-approved choice!
Well, I don't send a surprise this big...and alive. But she sure as hell tries to sneak in every time! If you see anything you like in Thrift Haul posts- or even in my house- (I sell stuff to people almost every time they visit, and I've sold things people have seen in my house tour posts online, too!) send me an e-mail. :)
What did you find this weekend?

Love your finds! The radio and kitchen dispenser are awesome! And your photos with Yuko in them are so adorable...she's the cutest!
ReplyDeleteShe's fun to photograph!
DeleteOMG, Van - you scored the mother-load! Seriously, everything you found is great!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd this ain't all of it ;)
DeleteWe found those exact same mushroom containers at a thrift store this weekend. My mum bought them for her store.

That is awesome that two lovely sets such of this still exist in the world :) I think so, anyway.
DeleteI can't believe you found that Wynken Blynken and Nod book! That was one of my favorite stories when I was little! I may have to buy it from you. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love everything else, of course...I always do! I adore the radio especially. And I think the gargoyle would be super cute and super spooky painted black with neon pink eyes. Or maybe yellow eyes. Oooohh....
If you'd like it I'd give you an exceptionally good deal ;) I'd have to scan the pages first, though!
DeleteYes, the possibilities for the gargoyle...oh the possibilities, I think I have something nifty up my sleeve for him.
Wow. You are wearing shorts.
ReplyDeleteShorts are short in Florida :) Gets hawt down here. But I prefer sun dresses...
DeleteCool finds! We found a wall mounted wax paper/aluminum foil/paper towel dispenser very similar to yours this week, too! We forgot to take pictures of it, so it's not in our post this week, though. Next week... I think I've said this a few times already, but I love love love your cat! Ours loves sneaking into boxes, too. So silly!
ReplyDeleteEveryone loves the silly Yuko. :) She's smart, she's got a lot of personality and pretty eyes.
DeleteI love the wall mounted dispenser. I can't wait to see about your pound store experienc. I'm there every Monday. It's a lot less crazy since they got security.
ReplyDeleteI think they have security every day. Those vultures will take an eye out for that old junk otherwise! :) I don't compete, I leisurely hunt.
Deletethey started using security about four months ago. Before that there were fights. It was crazy
DeleteSo I've heard. That is...wow. Do people realize how much junk is out there? With all the thrift stores in Jacksonville, it's never worth fighting for. Additionally, buying by weight doesn't necessarily mean big savings depending on what you buy.
DeleteOK -just for the record, I think the mushroom canisters are very cool but I know they can be a challenge to sell( why doesn't everyone share our aesthetic?)=) Last week I needed to look for retail space and found one.. BUT it has some major town restrictions- Blah...so the search goes on
ReplyDeleteI have this theory about jars- perhaps people just don't see the use for them anymore? I can find the prettiest jars alive and they'll just sit on the shelves for months. Even when marked down as low as possible.
DeleteWhat a riot that you have scored three of the plaid Aladdin Thermoses. I recently found one just like it!

I have big, medium, and small sitting in the kitchen. Actually, I may have found four of those? I love 'em :)
DeleteToo funny. I saw that thermos at Goodwill yesterday & totally thought to myself... Van would totally buy that.
ReplyDeleteGood guess! :)
DeleteI have that same black cat figure! I'm looking at him right now! I'd rather have that beautiful white one in the box. Looove cats, hate allergies.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big cat fan too. ;) Yuko's all I can handle right now, but I wish I could take in more...
Deletei noticed the shorts too - it's still winter in Canada! i LOVE that atomic dispenser. i thought of the Jestsons too and you're absolutely right about the metallic lables on there. so cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm in a strapless sundress today, I love living in warm places :D It's an awesome piece, it appears to be sold already!
DeleteThat alarm clock is fab and the graphics on that album are fantastic... I mean look at it!
ReplyDeleteLove the little radio clock and of course, Pyrex is always a great find!!
ReplyDeleteAlwwwways jealous of your amazing finds.

I don't think you'll have any trouble moving that mushroom canister set! I try not to buy breakable stuff, but sometimes you can't resist! I adore the little atomic clock, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the metal canisters!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. We added you to our Blogs We Follow section. Hope you don't mind. Keep up the great work.
